I know he's not the fastest, but if you had to choose, would you swap him to be your backup LB (3rd string most likely, really) or keep him as 4th option on DE?
I'm pretty stacked on DL and thin on LB, but I'm not sure if his low strength and tackling along with acceleration and speed shy of 80 (after he transitions) will be good enough.
He has the coverage skills I covet and he's good enough at both run stop and pass rush. He'll never be a star, but he should be serviceable. What's your thought?

I'd use him at WLB.

I would go further and use him as CB with then (after 85 lbs weight loss) 87 speed/87 acceleration/95 b&r coverage. But maybe this is my very special point of view on him because linebackers at my team have no need for b&r coverage since they only cover RBs or FBs.
Yes, I think in the past it could be done but then barriers were put in place with the 'body frame' addition.
My thinking is that the player will hit a brick wall and not get his weight down to nearly CB capable otherwise why would JDB have implemented this new twist to position changes.
However, a 7th rounder. Heck, try it and see if I'm wrong because I've never attempted to shift that much in this new world. :)
Update: I have a frame of reference. A 6'5" RB. Looks like he has leveled off at 207 pounds, therefore, SS/FS appears to be the possible landing destination.
CB would be my first choice too. I definitely wouldn't play him on the line - no strength and no tackle. He's going to get there quick and then get run over like a speed bump.

Definitely a WLB for me. Great coverage skills one-on-one. Would be able to shut down tight ends pretty well in most normal sets. I would not make him a safety just because his zone coverage is low. It would be interesting to see how he does at CB if he gets down to safety weight at 207.
