Back to business in your allotted venue which is NOT competing in any leagues or vying for anything significant or playing the game to any level while having fierce competitive battles with the likes of CJ, Raidergreg, Michael77, Pern or myself to name a few. Camaraderie and respect between GMs whom put in the time and effort to succeed and are actually in leagues competing with one another. It's about respect, competition and friendship.
It's not about sitting on the sidelines in your allotted venue wanting to disrupt our fun so you can scientifically break the game down and scientifically tear down our successful strategies all in the name of parity.
Wait, so this doesn't bother you "Parity is the key to this games success . Not winning games."
Or the fact that on another thread Ray straight up told you you're a candidate for his dissecting your strategies for analysis whether you want to give it up freely to him or not.
That doesn't bother you...

Actually JDB is going to look at zone next season so all your guys points would be moot
I hope it won't be moot. My advice was supposed to apply against zone in general and not just zone in a particular iteration. I was posting in the hope that someone more experienced would step in and make corrections to what I had to say.
Both sides make good points here.
I have lost a World Championship to group-think. It was a different community, a different kind of game, and I was one of the people encouraging that kind of interaction, by posting about my strategies and exploits, (as did the previous World Champion before me).
This is a sports-based game, where a lot of owners feel proprietary about their strategies. It is supposed to be competitive. Without clear guidance from the top, it's up to us to find the balance we want between competition and cooperation. Seth, where are you?
I personally see too many leagues dying from one and done owners, who play a few sims or one season and quit because it's too hard to learn and they can't find the info; or veteran game-planners that pick up a fallow team, take it to a few championships and drop it when it would take work to keep it going. League churn isn't healthy for the community or the game.
I wasn't saying a rule was broken just that it could very easily be abused to where a newer gm simply has an insider like Ray design a gameplan for him to win a championship rather than do it himself. I'm all for interaction and learning and information about the game play itself being shared but I just see screenshots for specific games as going too far. In this case that wasn't the intention but it sets precident for someone to abuse it which jdb has always been strongly against unfair advantages that change outcomes.
None of this bothers me because it's all just noise.
Want my opinion on how to beat a LB zone defense?
I have NEVER based my offense on if my opponent used man or zone with his linebackers. I have no clue at all.
Everyone makes this game so complicated and there are simply no secret answers.
The game tells you everything you need to succeed game after game regardless of what defense is being used or what version we are in. There is no short cut to those answers either. It can take longer for some and some get it down quick but there isnt one absolute answer.
Everything factors in to what works for what team. Roster construction....coaching staff construction....plays available....play familiarity....play knowledge....QB intelligence.....offensive lineman run blocking vs pass blocking....speed of playmakers at RB and WR......quality of talent at FB and TE (are they blockers first or playmakers first).....years of experience for everyone.....fatigue settings......down and distance.....ball location.....quality of depth.....plus dozens more only to come down to a lucky or unlucky roll.
You can help people with general ideas and plays to explore but just because a play works for you at a 9.8 yard per average click doesnt mean it will work for another team (even one of you own).
There are very few shortcuts in this game.....trial and error is the only way to find out what works for the team you have constructed and for only this moment in time.
So no, I dont have a problem. I dont care if a dozen people get together and come up with a plan to beat me. Good luck
I cant give answers to somebody because I dont have some secret formula. I listen to what the game tells me is working and keep fine tuning it.....I'm not into all the xxx and ooo's......im not into computer codes..... but I'm good at math.....8 yards/att is better then 1.5 yards/att on offense and vice versa on defense.
There's a multitude of things that I do which goes off feel, trial and error while taking results from previous game(s) and fortifying. Not going to detail it here because it'll only come back to bite me. But I have a deeply layered system which works off of results provided with a bit of visual but almost no film break down, scientific approach to my game plan. So I couldn't either dissect the answer to Tribewriter's question because it's not how I approach the game.
However, I've learned a lot more than that in this thread.
Tribewriter understood our concerns. Ray is gonna be Ray, he has his own agenda so arguing with him is pointless and punisher thinks we want to ban screenshots.
