Offense vs. LBs in zone?
by tribewriter @ 6/30/2019 3:11 pm
One of my upcoming opponents plays his LB in zone on almost every play. Which offensive plays would be most effective against this?

Is it possible to get a screen shot of the defensive scouting page...sorted by times called?

If NCAA 2.0 he is referring to i imagine so
his team = https://ncaa2.myfootballnow.com/team/11

if he is refering to his roster only team i would imagine NOT
team = https://ufa.myfootballnow.com/team/8

It tough to see easily unless your in that screen . Which is only accessible if your the owner and your playing that opponent that week. Still, I looked through a few logs and one team seemed to pick goaline zone play, but it's tough to tell , cause there's so many plays with one LBer in zone.

Are the dbs or some dbs in zone? A zone in? Zone blitzes ? Cause imo this matters alot only cause of positioning LBers , but I think this is where TES put up some the highest catch %. 4.5 brings along risk targeting TES only cause of the lurking LBers are ready to make a big play as well

I don't know what is effective, but I know that sweeps and pitches will be limited because LB's in zone in react faster to the run as far as I know and have experienced.

Put your best fast receiver in the #2 slot. Throw slants, posts, and streaks down the weak sideline. I'd suggest going easy on TE plays, or any where the RB is more than an outlet. Those LBs are waiting for anything across the middle. Use plays with an outlet. They don't always get long yards, but they get consistent yards against zone defenses. Make sure there is someone assigned to block that CB3, and burn him deep on the double safety blitzes.

Here's the TE exploiting the LDE on that CB3 blitz . The qb snuck it in there before the safety got there .

3-3-5 blitz getting beat by the 4th option. Nobody is in the flat...

Shotgun Normal - HB Flare Medium

The LT picks up the blitzer, the LG & C double up on the RDE. Nice!
