A workaround for injuries???
by parsh @ 10/08/2019 4:55 am
[Had I known something like this would happen, I would have been more prepared .. my apologies I don't have the details]

The player: https://ufa.myfootballnow.com/player/2983

Going into my game, Samuel was listed as Questionable and 5 weeks. I decided to go all hands on deck and started him despite the injury. Figuring if nothing else, I would IR him he was injured some more.

Well, he kinda was ..

He is now listed as "OUT" for 2 weeks due to a concussion .. and IR-able.

Some questions I have are:

1. Because this is an injury on top of injury is that the only reason a concussion gives the IR option? I didn't think we could IR for that reason.
2. In 2 games, will he now be at full health?
3. Will his previous injury status kick back in at 4 weeks or now at 2?

Would love some input on this as I am tempted to just go ahead and IR for the roster spot. I didn't know if anyone else had experienced this before.

The only thing that causes a player to be eligible for IR is to have an injury designation as out. It doesn't matter what or where the injury is, just that he's Out. Since he will recover in 2 weeks do not put him on IR because unlike real NFL, we can not bring them back off IR.

His ankle injury will continue to heal while he gets his head right.

I've noticed that the only short term IR injury is concussion. That's an interesting twist.

Every other injury takes a heck of a lot for it to get to 'Out' status.

I will add now that it is through the game SIM, he is still listed as OUT (2wks/concussion) and IR-able ..
