Coach hiring ?

I had a coordinator hired away late in the process, so need to replace during Late FA 2 in order to have a full staff for Training Camp. I'm wanting to promote a positional coach to the coordinator's spot and hire a new position coach...but is this possible to do within one spin, or does it have to be a two-step process?
I can offer the positional coach a coordinator's contract and that looks fine. But when I go to hire someone for the position slot, I get an ominous "this will result in the current coach being fired" message that leads me to think that proceeding might result in a penalty that causes the position guy to give me the bird and not take the coordinator's spot if that action processes first. Am I being paranoid here? |

Am I being paranoid here? actually your Offensive Coordinator retired at the 2009 end of season stage Roger Fernandez = https://die-hard-fans.myfootballnow.com/coach/41 well only way you can do it in 1 spin is if you hire a coach for OC then hire a replacement for the person you are hiring at OC like if you are hiring your kicker coach as your OC you will need to hire a coach as a kicker coach and if both accept you will do it in 1 spin. now if you try to hire both and one or both reject you then it will take longer than 1 spin |

Punisher - If you go back and read Red’s first post, you’ll see that he’s already talking about doing everything you suggested in your responses.
His post appears to come down to this question.... Can a coach hold a grudge against you for firing him and refuse your offer for the promotion? Another way to ask it would be.... Like players, do coaches develop opinions of us? (ie: happy, unhappy, livid, etc.) If yes, then it would be a good indication that we would want to avoid the double hiring in one spin. I’m just as curious for the answer as Red. The two different ways to do it are already understood. The question is in regards to the possible negative effects that could be a big factor in deciding which of the two ways to do it. Especially when in the tight situation to fill both open coaching positions in time for the training camp spin like Red is trying to do right now. My total guess is... Since coaches profile pages don’t show their opinions of us, they might not hold a grudge from being fired. Therefore, it may work out fine to do both offers in the same spin. But I’m only guessing. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I believe anytime a coach is promoted from within the transaction log says he was fired. I also believe it's just semantics as he's not really getting fired. The only problem I see is trying this during early FA, as other teams can poach the coach you want to promote. Should be no problem during late FA so long as you have the cash to cover the contracts.

There are no such things as coaching grudges. I've fired coaches and then rehired them in the next turn. Also the "this will result in the current coach being fired" message can safely be ignored. Of course you want to fire the current coach, because you've found a better one!
