Sacks

From my own experience in watching games, it seems that a disproportionate amount of sacks come from plays in which the QB bails the pocket then scrambles sideways with half a dozen defenders trailing after him in a clump until one finally downs him. I feel like QBs should throw the ball away more often once outside the pocket if a sack is imminent (tied to intelligence/XP, maybe- savvy QBs are better at this), rather than taking the sack; bad QBs would more likely take the sack or make an errant and dangerous throw downfield.
To make up for this consequent reduction in sacks, I think that QBs bouncing off of would-be sackers should be significantly reduced. It strikes me as happening way too frequently where I see a more or less unblocked defender(s) come streaking into the QB, only to have him bounce off--sometimes multiple times in a row--only to then throw a perfect strike deep downfield into multiple coverage. And this isn't just limited to amazing QBs throwing to amazing WRs... it'll be a 50 rated QB with no break tackle break-tackling a 99 rated DE to hit a 60 rated WR in double coverage against a 95 rated CB and 80 rated S. Yes, this sometimes happens--but not with the frequency that I feel it's currently represented in the game. |

There is no way this would have ever happened in real life. http://mfn8.myfootballnow.com/watch/926#176684
