Downloading game logs
by The Hitman @ 2/28/2020 3:40 pm
Is there a way to download all the play logs from my team, for the whole season without having to click the download button and then combine all the CSV files together?

Not as far as I've found. It's a real pain too when you are building a database.

You're not using a web scraper? They're not hard to build ... if you've gone to the trouble of creating a database, might as well ...

I always built my own, but you could try something like ParseHub or Webhose.io.

I prefer importing from the CSV. Screen scraping can be even less reliable.

I meant using a scraper to automate the CSV downloads.

GLB has a great scouting tool that saves a lot time. For any of you former GLBers, you probably know what I mean.

Ah, yes. AHK could do the same thing I guess. I usually update during a season, so I don't think about it too deeply.

Me just using my brain... Sure this stuff is nice, but can you do it on the fly? Or are you wasting time analyzing yet another filter?
Some people are weird with numbers, some people are weird in what they effort to get those numbers :)
Some folks are just old school enough to remember these things.
Some things cannot be explained.
All we do, all the time and every day, in every facet of "life," is look for and follow patterns.

The more we doubt our own cognitions, the more we rely upon the "other" to do what we already can, the less we can rely upon our intuition.

Definitely not a waste of time for me. I download games to pull out the statistics from them to keep my data analysis and SQL skills sharp.
