So one thing I have been paying more attention to lately is which players are on the field at any given time
example: Team has three able bodied and quite talented RB at 1 and 2 plus an average RB at RB#3 who is also set to FB#2 https://private-gm-nfl.myfootballnow.com/box/1087 Can anyone guess why the sim pulled in FB#1 a few times in the game into the rushing back (He is not in the HB depth chart) ? A couple of them were 2/1/2 plays where the sim then put RB#2 into the FB spot? IMO this player should never be pulled into HB spot unless other players were injured in-game I have all positions set to 30 on fatigue Rushing stats RB#1 - 12 rush RB#2 - 12 rush RB#3 - 8 rush FB#1 - 4 rush Not sure how many pass routes they may have been involved with Ok all that to question how does the fatigue actually work? Do I need to run a higher fatigue setting? I have it at 30 to help spread the load for injuries and for the most part it does seem to help. However in late game situations my FB is NOT the guy I want rushing, especially when the sim then pulls the #1 or #2 HB into the play as FB??? Also this has happened right after a punt/kick so the players should have rested yes? Although on the punt HB#3 was the punt return so He may have been winded Any suggestions?

Check your overrides. Even if you never use them, they show your depth chart based on formation/personnel.

I have seen this happen before. I believe what happens is, when all of your depth chart players are above the set fatigue and/or injuries happen, the game will go to the next available player in that position group. Even though they're not in the depth chart. So to avoid it you might have to increase the fatigue setting.

ok so I guess I wouldn't or shouldn't need to go much higher as still want to distribute snaps as it seems to be one of the most suggested things to prevent injuries. I would have thought that with three backs this shouldn't happen. I will try a higher %fatigue setting next game and will leave all OAI settings the same. See where the rabbit goes

That or sign a 4th RB. I have my fatigue at 60. I only had 2 players run the ball in my last game:

I think some of the runs from 2 RB sets have an FB and an RB lined up, rather than two RB's. In this instance the FB is usually there as a lead blocker but occasionally will get the handoff from the QB or be the dumpoff option if it's a pass.
To get around this you have choices, find FB's who can block AND have speed. Find RB's who can block. Use over-rides. You could try putting nobody in the FB queue (no idea what would happen though). Finally identify the plays where this happens and take them out of the gameplan |

A couple formations do this in 2-1-2, and you can use overrides to replace the FB with your RB2. |

OK thanks guys, I think I see it now as it happened on similar plays so it makes sense that the sim uses the FB at RB2 so looks like I will be setting up the override with both HB's

Also, certain head coaches use a "Shotgun 2 RB/3 WR" formation which has two running backs in it. It depends on the Offense Style of the head coach, and I think "Pass Focused Offense" and "West Coast" have that formation in it. If the AI runs out of players in your depth chart, it will "steal" players from beyond your depth chart.
