That’s what I thought but when 4.5 was released some plays became useless as well. As the last championship I was in both QBs on took on two sacks and one hurry all game. (That’s low)Our qb completed 90 % of all passes...so my point might be slow as WRs are and as fast as DEs are we still managed to find the plays that work. Just like a transition from 4.4 to 4.5 ..... you got to find the money plays .
Don’t get me wrong I pass a lot in the new code and numbers are down (and it looks ugly)but even without rules the run game can be stopped. So to win that leaves the responsibility on creating a good passing game. As those same run stopping plays will get beat by the pass. And those same pass defensive plays will get beat by the run.
Idk, but 4.5 just doesn’t have that and it’s all due to the flattening of the curve or raising zero speed. The code is basically the same as 4.5 besides pass blocking responsibilities and speed end of the pass rush.
Not to defend nothing but the exploitable speed gaps are harder to expose. And smaller guys do get injured more when facing bigger guys. Smirt was playing an elite cb at mlb... really a bunch of small guys and he got stomped.
My question is it worth using all small guys (to gain speed) ? For sure in 4.5 but I am not so sure in beta tests. Again cause of the flattened curve. Yes guys are too slow in general and weight (not hieight) still matters too much but exposing speed like the past is harder for sure. Idk how that could not be good.... especially when passing is tweaked to up the final numbers.
