I'd like to be able to make notes on free agents for my team until they are signed by another team or until I delete said notes.

Would make it a bit easier in who I was interested in instead of having to look at the same FA's over and over again.

No, the same player's notes.. Seems the player notes only work when players are actively on your team.
I'd like the notes to work on FA's / Draft class also.

That shouldn't be the case, you should be able to make notes on any player in the league. I just tested it and it seems to be working fine for me, are you having issues with that?

I made some notes on two players in a draft class yesterday, I'm still searching for those players because I can't find the * next to their names. So in turn I forgot which players I left notes with.

Ah, gotcha - the next web update currently under development is going to be more consistent with showing the asterisk on noted players.
