Perhaps I should ask how MUCH does coaching matter as it does matter some toward player development. Looking at the pic above, it doesn't seem like that's a great coaching staff but they are the coaches of the defending Beast Mode champs.

Normally I don't even look at coaches, but it's FA1 and I need to re-sign these guys.

I guess my point is, this is a reminder to not get too upset when getting coach poached. I've been upset before after getting poached but looking at this makes me question why I even cared.

On the flipside is this coaching staff. Looks pretty awesome right? Their ratings are high but they coach a .500 team. This is my USFL coaching staff btw.

This. The biggest boost comes from the HC, smaller boosts from the OC/DC and position coaches in TC. At least that's what it says somewhere in the game documentation.

TBH I haven't ever seen that much of a difference from running a 38 year old, 50 overall rating coach with the playbook I want and a 100 rating coach.

Who dictates your playbook? Is it HC or OC? Same for D.

Head coach decides both

Do OC and DC have anything to do with playcalling whatsoever, or is it just cosmetic? Never understood their roles, just looked at the HC's playbooks.
