One of the best young corners in this league rotting away as a healthy scratch on an AI roster.

its a huge flaw. any other examples? perhaps we can get this fixed

with flaws as such..... MFN is not yet a product worth paying for

There is a simple solution to fix this: change the default player weights to more accurately define the best players!

Couple that with using a formula to factor in future ratings instead of just using current ratings to decide depth order.

In the Anything Goes RO example:

The rookie has a current 51 rating which pushes him to the bottom of the depth chart despite his potential being 16 points higher then the starter.

In the German League example:

The 2nd year CB is ranked 4th best among CBs with his 73 current rating. Changing default player ratings to reflect the importance of speed would quickly fix this problem

thank you. but i dont follow.........meaning i can change a depth chart if i take ownership of a team. but i dont want to have to maintain ownership. as soon as i abandon the team the AI shuflles the depth chart

also....admins shouldnt have to do this. many good players i see arent in the depth chart at all. admins shouldnt have to fix unowned teams in order to keep the league strong

so in a way......im being asked to pay to do work

My bad, I mean it's a simple fix for JDB!

He needs to change the default player weights which would ultimately mean the A.I. would make better decisions.

The default player weights are what the A.I. uses to set the depth chart, sign players and assign a trade score. JDB can easily change the default player weights which would instantly make the A.I. make better choices.

Sorry for the misunderstanding

all good homie

maybe an even simpler fix is to put all of the players in the depth chart automatically. like....if a player isnt on the depth chart why is he on the team? i see it happen often

also.......admins shouldnt have to pay to customize the leagues in the offseason

there are 25 leagues that are publically available. i am unaware if there are any private leagues....i have never been invited :(

of the 25 leagues..... it looks like 5 of them are numbered leagues.....no admin, no customization, all default......4 full version and 1 RO. combined, the 4 full version leagues are at 34% capacity

just 6 of the 25 teams have single digit vacancies. each is a custom league with an active admin. these 6 leagues have a combined capacity of 96%

kinda clear to see that admins are instrumental to MFNs success

if MFN had competitve "AI", it would be possible for someone to play in a league by themself which could increase revenue

Create an alt and fix one team at a time.
That's the suggestion I got facing your concern, and it was a great suggestion.
Thus it's my suggestion to you.
Always let your league gms know exactly what you are doing and why.
I never had anyone complain, and folks were very responsive to fixing a team.
I often took vacant teams from beginning of that seasons playoffs to the beginning of the next season's playoffs. I would take a team through FA, EOS, EFA. DRAFT, LFA, TC, and up to playoffs and promote it in the forums throughout.
If you decide to go with an alt to fix the "worst ai team of the year," I'd suggest being upfront when questions arise, and never include your actual team in any transaction - including bidding your main against your alt ;)
I hope my experience helps ya a bit moving forward.
Not in your league, but it's clear you're an active GM. Thank you for that.

yes this has been my approach, but i would strongly prefer to not do it if that was an option. there is a bit of a butterfly effect when a team is not competitive...bad for the league
