As easy as it is to like a post it should be just as easy to not like a post. Many forums use up voting and down voting for posts and that would be my suggestion.
The bottom line is I just want to give a thumbs down to things that I disagree with without having to comment about it.

the funny thing is that when I wrote this, i figure any implementation would result in the retaliation shown and required to get a "thumbs ups."

My expectation was that if "thumbs down" were to be implemented I (and others now and in the future) would get a lot of them because haters be haters.
