How about we make it so if a position coach on team A is offered a higher position from another team, say team B, Team A has until the next sim stage to offer his current position coach more money for his current position or make an offer on having him the higher position.

Nice idea but open to exploitation

I'm actually glad that happens. I was just curious..On another note is it new, the fact that I can see what other teams offered a player.

I think you can't see the first days offer but if the FA is there for a day or two you can. If that makes any sense. Not sure how it works but that's what I've noticed.

I was kinda asking about that in this thread- http://cust14.myfootballnow.com/community/1/749?page=0

You would still have to offer him a coordinator position to keep him, if he's better than your existing coordinator then you should promote him anyway. No position coach will take more money to turn down an offer to be a coordinator somewhere else, and the same for a coordinator - he won't take more money to turn down a head coach gig.

I believe the number 1 priority is the guaranteed money. The big bonus total over all the years, so if you offer more per season then someone else for less seasons but his guaranteed bonus total is more from the other offer he may take that offer.

The only problem with offering that kind of contracts is that players 10 years in the league or more have a percentage chance of retiring the next season and this could increase more each season as injuries also can effect it greatly. So if you give that 6 year contract and he retires the next season or before the full contract is finished any bonus money left on that contract will be applied to the next season as dead cap space.

Are you sure about this? If they retire, don't they forfeit the remaining money in the contract including bonus?

In the NFL this is true, but not in MFN.

Yeah I have proof in MFN-1. I signed a lot of older players to big contracts last season to make a Championship push, it worked but had a lot of retirements to a amount of 45 mil in dead cap space going into next season. I have some fudging to do as with current contracts and the dead cap space its going to put me right around the cap already for next season. Its a gamble on signing older players to long term contracts
