This play is from the USFL / WFL, regular season game #6, Denver Gold vs. Pittsburgh Maulers, 10:46 remaining in the 1st Quarter. The player in question was formerly a TE before I acquired him and moved him to LG. He had a high of 39 receptions in his best season. Because he has TE skills, I put him in my depth chart at TE as needed to fill in for injured players and for certain other strategic situations. In this circumstance, I actually forgot to take him out of the depth chart at TE as I was primarily passing out of the 2-2-1 formation in that game and I have better pass catching TE's. And, of course, there are no player usage rules in the USFL / WFL other than not allowing two-way players so there is nothing unacceptable about this particular play.

That's a good use of an extra lineman and can confirm this is/was a legal play. There is one other rule in USFL/WFL and that's you must use an actual placekicker for FGs/XPs. If that's not clearly shown on the league page, I'll have to fix that.
