Roster Cuts | MyFootballNow

Roster Cuts by JCSwishMan33 @ 7/20/2015 8:17 am Just want to make sure I'm clear... League 30 is mid-Draft right now. I am currently over the salary cap, but I have something like 9 roster cuts pending that'll fire off at the end of the Draft. Will those cuts go through (and possibly drop my salary cap below the maximum) before the AI makes its own cuts?

Your roster must be at 60 or below when the TC stage runs. You don't have to be down to 53 until the first regular season GAME stage.

The reason I want to cut this player, but have him play the championship game is so I can save cap space and attempt to sign some contracts on players that are in their last year of their contract before the end of the season approaches. So my 2 part question is if I cut a player before the championship game stage will he play in that game and be released after the game? If I cut a player before the End of Season stage, will the cap space that was saved show up on the team home page and be able to sign contracts with that saved cap space?

If you cut the player on the championship game stage, he will be cut _before_ the game, so no, he will not play. If you do cut him, though, you won't likely get much cap space back because his base salary will be prorated and I believe once the regular season is over the prorating is complete. His bonus of course will still be on your cap as well. So from a cap perspective there's really no advantage to cutting him now or waiting until next season, and if he's got more than this year and next year on his contract you're going to be better off cutting him next season so the accelerated cap hit is one fewer season.

Alrighty got it, he's in his last year so I just wanted to cut him after the game but before the end of season to try and gain a little cap space but that's understandable.
