Hello everyone!

There's been some discussion about MFN-TEST. Previously, free-tier players had to choose between joining a competitive league or the testing league. To encourage more testers and help identify issues in the upcoming engine code, MFN-TEST now allows free-tier players to participate in MFN-TEST while also being in one other league. If you'd like to help shape the next version of the game engine, please join a team in MFN-TEST.

Are you able to watch the games live on Discord? I thought I had read somewhere that you could.

No. However, there is no reason an MFN Fan group could not be set up on Discord, with voice channels for each league and play-by-play commentary between the two players involved.

I'd imagine you'd need to consult JDB over it - I doubt there would be any objections. Only possible issue would be using in game footage if there was any money going your way over it. Maybe expand the existing discord to allow such things.

Useful tool for the game with regards to marketing though. Maybe "leak" a few threads from the discord onto other social media, drive traffic across.

No objections. My main concern with 3rd party tools is whether they give people an advantage in the game - but if it increases awareness, engagement, or even just a better experience, I love it.

I was thinking more of the case a number of game developers have found - people using footage, slapping music or whatever on, pocketing the cash on youtube or wherever without financially covering the game whose footage they took.

Having it go viral could boost the player numbers back up, definitely - but having been dealing with the legalistics of using a third party library at work all day, I did wonder if the game makes it big, if there might be issues around NFL team names being used.
