Sad to hear about the passing of Frank Gifford over the weekend.
Being born and raised in the UK,and finding the game with disc-jockey Nicky Horn & John Smith presenting on Ch 4 in the mid `80`s,it was a real deal, that someone as "big a name in the NFL" as Frank could be brought in to present a season (I think) fronting CH 4 coverage.
It showed that the game,NFL and the UK audience were being treated with respect and knowledge, even then in those early days, progressing to where it is now, with 3 games shown live every Sunday as well as MNF shown live throughout the season.
Thank you Frank RIP.

I wasn't old enough to know Cosell but Frank Gifford is and always will be the voice of Monday Night Football to me.

I remember listening to John Lennon on the radio saying how great it was to be able to walk around NYC without being hassled and how safe he felt....4 days later :(
