last pre-season game for one of my teams and it has gone to OT.
For some reason my team attempts a FG on 2nd and 2 when we still have 3 timeouts left and misses it wide left.

With 3 timeouts left shouldn't I have gone for the first down at least to move the ball closer or perhaps even use TOs to attempt the go ahead score without kicking?

This actually cost the game, although admittedly not an important game.

idk, inside the 20 yard line you probably expect to make the field goal vs. risk a turnover trying to get a little closer.

Does "expect to make the field goal" take into consideration how good your kicker / long snapper / holder is?
