Trade Balance

The trade balance bar is too restrictive.

There have been multiple occasions recently where a trade was not allowed to go through because the AI deemed it too unbalanced. In both cases, both owners were in agreement that they wanted the trade.

One example had the bar all the way in my favor, but I thought it was a fair trade. The other was the opposite.

In my opinion, these restraints need to be turned way down. It's very frustrating when both teams want to make a trade, only to have the AI tell us we can't.

...and sometimes it's just completely baffling. A player selected that season in the third round requiring multiple firsts, etc.

This thing is screwed up.

I am trying to offer a 91/93 CB, a 1st round pick AND 2 2nd round picks for a 88/98 DE, but the AI is saying it's too unbalanced in MY favor to even be considered by the other team.

Ridiculous.

Are the players older? The trade balance takes into consideration how old the player is and doesn't allow you to trade, say, a 1st round pick for a 90-rated vet if he's too old.

No. The CB is a 4 year vet. It is showing that what I am offering (the CB and all those picks) is not enough to let the offer go through.

Can you send me (either here or PM if you don't want to disclose it here) the league and what is on each side of the offer?

I think I have at least identified part of the problem - what is happening is that players are being evaluated to a draft pick value; the players in question were evaluating to picks within the top 10. However, they were not evaluating to the same pick - and in the top 15 there is a great amount of disparity for the value of a pick from one spot to the next. In this case, one player landed at pick 15 and the other landed at pick 7. Because you had such success in the most recent season, your first round draft picks are projected to be near the end of the round, meaning you didn't have enough in your picks to outweigh the difference in the balance of the players.

I am presuming most of the issues expressed here are similar in that they are top-tier talent. I have modified the balance bar to cap the pick value as pick #10 since above that is where it really starts to get crazy. (I initially did it at pick 15 but wasn't happy with the balance at that level). This should reduce the hamstringing that happens with these high value players.
