That looks like a bug to me.

I see it quite often when attempting to re-sign my own players. Of course, I don't start out offering what they are asking for.

neither do i, i use a very simple formula that so far has always worked
1. zero out bonus
2. it will bring up an error saying player requires X amount of bonus
3. take X divide by the number of years you wish to contract for = "Y"
4. take Y divide by 3 then times by 4 = "Z"
5. place Z in the manual setting for the first year of the contract
6. put bonus at 75%
7. hit submit

this will work even if i plan to later trade a player since the bonus is still the minimum the player will accept so even with a lower percentage the bonus amount would be the same the total contract however would be higher

There was a bug in the new interface that allowed you to offer a contract to a player in the first year of his current contract, it was recently fixed. If you are in the first year of a league you shouldn't be able to renegotiate until the second season since every player signed their contract in the current year.

If this is not the case let me know and I will investigate it.

This is correct.

I resigned two players this stage, but another player rejected my proposal. That makes two, so far.

I pm'ed you earlier btw, before seeing this. So sorry about the extra message.
