I'm just ranting a bit, not complaining or wanting a change to the game. It seems as though when there is a FA period I ALWAYS lose out on free agents. Now this could have something to do with being outbid ,of course. But it also has a lot more to do with time zones. I won't bet the farm on any player just to get him either... I work for a living (like most do here) and waking up 2:30 AM trying to outbid another Owner just won't cut it. This puts me/others at a competitive disadvantage. What's everyone's thoughts on this?

FA bids all spin at the standard times, so you have all day to put in your bids? I don't see the issue here.

Interesting....So I can put in the highest bid at say 11 PM and go to bed and someone comes along in a different time zone and out bids me at the last minute (2:30 AM my time) and that's ok?
I have a FA period right now that's set to end at 3AM my time. What should I do?

Bidding on FAs isn't instantaneous. Whatever you set is temporary until the league's next spin time. So you can feel free to change and adjust your bids up until the moment the league spins, and then it's set in stone. During that period, no one else will know your bid. So no one can 'out bid' you with any knowledge of what it was you chose to bid. The only time you can really out-bid anyone is if a FA chooses not to sign with any team for that spin (typical for high-profile FAs or ones with multiple bids of similar value), at which point you can see a list of the total contract offer that every other team offered to that player and can adjust your own values accordingly. Note that FAs will most frequently take the offer with the most guaranteed money, so even if a team has offered more overall contract money, if it was mostly non-guaranteed, they may end up taking a lower bid.

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that all bids were shown if any FA player had a contract pending from another team.

Only bids from the previous day are shown so no bids that are made during the current day are listed on the player. There is no competitive edge to being the last bidder of the day

Did my best but still lost out on every single FA I was interested in... :( How are people outbidding me without their salary cap being a mess in a season or two?

True...Guess I need to "really" over pay on some players. I'm missing something though, but I'll keep trying.
