Can anybody give me a refresher or a link to a previous discussion on how waivers run? Is it by current standings or something else? My main question is putting in multiple claims for the same sim - will that screw up your claim for a better player if you've already claimed one.
All three of those players look pretty good, but FS Stevens is the most valuable. If I put in claims for all three and get WR Baker, will that diminish my chances of getting anybody else? If an owner or AI mistakenly cuts a superstar player that everyone's going to bid on, should you only put in a single bid and gamble on getting the guy and ignore anybody else on the waiver wire that sim?
Since it seems like waivers are run by alphabetical order by the players last names, I didn't know if claiming one near the top of the list would bump you to the back of the line and you wouldn't have a shot at anybody else later on. Might be a dumb question, but I figured I'd ask - thanks in advance for any assistance.

Would be nice to have a visual of the waiver wire order. It is semi annoying when things are hidden but are a facet of the game or decision making.
To your question I have zero clue but recall conversation about it. Not sure if this is something addressed a long time ago, but I took the sense before that it was imperfect and did not operate consistent with NFL waiver rules.
It was addressed in a thread waiver wire reset. Basically the first few weeks it's alphabetical order then goes to record. The player order processed is pretty much random. Upon claiming a player that team is supposed to go to the back of the order the next round.

Order from what I've seen is based on the most current regular season results even if those are from a previous season.
Not sure how it selects who to pick from the waiver wire first if you have multiple, but going in that order each team picks one player for their spot in the order. After making their pick they are sent to the back of the order AFAIK. Then every other team has the ability to make a claim with teams who do being sent to the back of the order and teams who do aren't but since they're not making a pick it doesn't matter. Then we have a new waiver order that is used again for any other claims that need to be processed where your team and any others that make a selection sent to the back of the order again for the next round of claims until there are no more waiver claims to process.
For your hypothetical, once you claim one player it hurts your chances to claim another because every team has either gotten a chance to claim one player or will get a chance to claim one player before you can claim your second
I was referring to the order of claiming multiple players on the same day. It would be nice to prioritize the player you want the most, but still keep a “plan b” in mind, which is apparently random? If you go by default player score that would make the most sense, but alphabetical is just stupid…
A way to manually set priority for multiple claims would be nice.
I agree that prioritizing claims would be ideal. There are times when a great player ends up on waivers and I'll think "14 people are going to claim that guy, why even bother?" especially if your team is already successful. Just trying to maximize the chances of getting a good player, even if it's not the A++ guy.
