But it's still off a little bit. The AI generates a legal contract, adds up the bonus, and it doesn't come out right. The game wants you to jiggle the sliders a little bit in order to make your contract pass muster. My hands are really bad, so I'm *so* not doing that!

Now, I can manually plug the bonus, as long as it is a multiple of the length of the contract. Plus, the bonus is a lot less manageable than it used to be. Both of which strike at the roots of this original exercise. So it appears contract extensions are the subjects of considerable development. I need to wait for this to shake out before I continue, if at all.

Not had any issues with the contract the way I'm doing them. * shrug *

The bonus was off by a few dollars, corrected the issue in my spreadsheet.

I'm not relying on the auto-population but entering the salaries into the game manually.

Now you can manually plug in the bonus, and also the bonuses are a lot less manageable than they had been. So the reason I ever did this has become moot. I might come back to this if it stops changing, but for now, I'm not trying anymore.

total bonus x .2501 = yr 1 salary.

If the total bonus can not exceed 75% of the yr 1 salary, then the yr one salary must be 25% or less.
Thus, 25.01%, or a factor of x.2501 of the total bonus is the yr one salary minimum.

SO: BOnus divided by # of years.
THAT result multiplied by .2501 EQUAL the minimum base salary

EG1: 10$ bonus divided by 6yrs = 1.666667
1.666667 x .2501= .4168 min bonus
eg1a: (10mil/6=1.666667mil x .2501) = 416.8k yr 1 salary.

EG2.
10$ bonus divided by 4yrs = 2.5
2.5 x .2501 = .6252
eg2a: 10 million bonus divided by 4 years = 2.5 million bonus per yr.
2.5 MULTIPLIED by .2501 = .6252k as a yr 1 salary minimum requirement.

EG3: Now, if one took out a loan on a train going 65 mph in a 35 mph zone at 27% interest (non-variable) , how many passengers will arrive on time at the station before 7 am?

The answer, of course is and always will be 42.
I threw in the last example for a giggle.
Giggity giggity.
Gosh bless Douglas Adams.
Percentage math is pretty basic stuff. Easy to spreadsheet if one needs to do so.
No towel required. ;)

The old 4/3 ratio works again. However, I'm still not willing to go back to this as long as renegotiation is a work in progress, as it apparently is. Plus, the way it's shaken out, this whole thing is not necessary. Only if it becomes difficult again, and if it's stable, will I try again.

how to use the JSID cheat without maxing 6 yr contracts.
Also, MFN still has a bug that prefers a max 6 yr contract at 25.01% yr 1 salary.
Last, I'm efforting reposting the JSID contract wizard ASAP amoungst other items of use.
If nothing else, it's a good baseline regardless of changes made to the player contract options.

If the new bonus to yr one salary ratio is 73%, then multiply by .2701.

Hope this helps the number declined. As in if one is number inclined, they already knew the slope, knew the y, and "got the X" (That's a ZZ top ref, btw).

PLayer contracts are yet another item that has become more difficult to use in the new UI. I am spending so much time putting in data and sliding bars only to put in the same data, sliders, data, sliders, data then bonus slider argh!

These days, when I'm signing any player, I spend tens of minutes fing around with the bonus slider. tens of more minutes than I used to in the old UI.
MFN sure has become time consuming. More so than ever before in regards to things that used to be simple.
Anything player related has become much more difficult to use. Contracts, depth charts, War rooms, FA searching, roster searching, overrides, etc et all.

I am spending far more time doing the things i need to do just to play MFN than i ever had to do before. MFN is definitely no longer a leisure time activity due to the time involved to do tasks that used to be simple but are now overcomplicated.
Sigh.

Actually, it's easier; it just doesn't work the way it used to. Now, you set the broad constraints, namely the First Year + Bonus and the Contract Length, and let the AI do the rest; then, you used to keep the AI firmly at arm's length.
