Carping... Next, martin is gonna tell us to shut up and eat our watermelons. Just, yikes.
Bit racist of you, that.
My family and myself did not overcome every obstacle to have some rando call me a carper. The offense is grave and deep.
MArtin, just another really nasty racial thing youve said since you become the forum admin.
1. Not a forum admin. 2. No racism has been made.
I suggest you seriously think twice about making false accusations.
Ive addressed your racism in public twice, and privately once, and here you are still opting to use terms of superiority.
At no stage have you "addressed racism" privately. Your public accusations are false.
Please provide your evidence of "addressing racism privately".
Martin - there are better options. IF you are to continue speaking for MFN to us, you better stop saying stuff like carping and all the other racial epithets you continue to use.
You're great for information. However, you always take the superior road, and you always talk down to those you respond to. Often, you pull out racial epithets like carping.
I'm assuming you can do better. ...but I'm not seeing you make any effort on your part to do better.
Martin, please stop dropping racial comments. I hope you have the smarts and the professional etiquette to not be the base of the base, to not be the beast of 2 backs as Shakesphere wrote.
I continue to be disgusted with your obvious biases.
I suggest you'd better stop the false accusations.
And to add on the more general point of MFN-TEST, there's plenty of things in progress there being tested to help the game improve; roster management, Zone vs rush, improvement to passing game. Roadmap is also useful for people to see what's been done and what is in progress.
There are a number of teams available there, anyone willing and happy enough to help test changes would be welcomed there by JDB, I'm sure. Most helpful thing is always constructive criticism. Carping solves nothing.
If i must pay to beta test, if i must pay to help, i simply will not. My account dictates i can either compete or do beta. I prefer to compete. I'd love to test, but i refuse to pay for a second team so I can do so. If I'm helping MFN, i should not have to pay to do it. Never pay anyone to work for them. The employer pays the worker. MFN beta should be free to all accounts. I won't buy a sub just so i can do work. I won't pay someone so i can work for them.
Somebody hasn't read the roadmap page, clearly. Or has done so and figures they can then claim the game has done what he asked for...
Maybe it might help with the decision making process and whether or not to contribute to the games development by comparing it to what else is out there? I havnt found anything, I just took a look at Head Football Coach, and thats a Big No Thanks, high cost and low amount of play involved. Ive been on here a long, long time, there are only a couple who may have been on longer, ray being one them Im sure, lol. I was real frustrated with the game a month ago, especially after the rosters got whacked by an auto manager that I was not used to in the new version. But, I decided to keep going with the full membership, mainly to help support development of the game. Im no coder or programmer, but Ive seen it up close on game development, and it is no easy task. Its not too much to ask for 50 cents a day compared to anything else that is currently online. Just my 2 bucks worth, it used to be 2 cents back when the phrase first came out, but that mustve been in the early 1900s, lol.
Aint that a classic pic? Bill Walsh at the chalk board and the famous 49er names on there. Both G's pulling on a strongside sweep, reminds me of Lombardi's philosophy of perfecting a few offensive plays, and he was big on that play.

Thread has been derailed, partly by me responding to vile accusations from a troll pushing their luck.
As regards your points, Grandad, the functionality you refer to was solely in MFN-TEST a test league specifically for testing new functionality.
Since the thread has become a car crash, I'm no longer going to respond to anything off thread topic.

Back on the subject of kicking ... they have gotten longer range lately in RL NFL, 60 is not as big a deal as it used to be. Like the guy below, what a weapon! And a great story, if you havnt read ir heard about him.

Think that's partially evolution - kicking being taken more seriously, maybe boot/ball changes. Maybe coaches more trusting of kickers these days.
How the game models that will be interesting.

I remember when everyone freaked out about the 63 yarder by Saints kicker Tom Dempsey in 1970, that kick record held for 43 years!!! He had half a foot, and a special shoe made for kicking, so toes were not a problem for the kicking style, which is a lot different than soccer style. That was when soccer style kickers were just coming around. Dempsey is another of so many great football stories.

How about the barefoot kickers?! It was called a fad, led by Tony Franklin/Eagles, he was the first.and most famous, Rich Karliss/Broncos, Mike Lansford/Rams and four others, the last one being Jeff Wilkins, who also was with the Rams. He was the last and quit kicking barefoot in 2002 and went back to using a shoe. It had to be pretty hard kicking a ball barefoot in the winter months in an outdoor northern stadium. I couldnt do it in any kind of condition, Im a tenderfoot. Ok, thats it for my kicker input on this thread, ha!
