I just want LBs to lead the league in tackles in a season, every season. Is that too much to ask?
I just had a thought.
If you were to add tackles and missed tackles together for your LBs (or anyone I guess), would that get the numbers where you would expect them to be?
If not, the issue may be more in the LBs not being in the right position, or substituting too frequently, too many pass plays, etc.
I just did this with one of my teams that is in the playoffs so I have a complete year's worth of data, and it did not make a difference.
My DBs are still the team leaders. Also, if I add all the totals and compare the LB position group to the DB position group, the DBs lead. This leads me to believe the DBs are getting the bulk of the tackles because the offenses I am playing against are pass heavy, or at least they are when they get down big to me:).
I'm just thinking there could be a reason other than missed tackles for why LBs aren't leading the league in tackles.
