My younger brother turned me on to Korpliklaani about 15 years ago and we went to see them and Arkona in Columbus.
I just went and looked at my concert hoodie with the tour dates and I saw them December 14, 2011 at the club where Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) was shot and killed. |

Oh, my. I'm gonna be busy the next week. WHat a ton of new and old suggestions.
My yertub algos need some changin,' and thanks for the assist, folks. I gotta question speaking of the old shtuff for the Pantera fans: If only 1 pantera song existed, what would it be? It would have to be "Becoming" for me, no doubt. |

My favorite is F'ing Hostile, Vulgar Display of Power doesn't have a bad song on it |

footnote: saw Pantera in 1996 in El Paso with White Zombie opening.
War of the Gargantuans Tour. Got a pick from Dimebag that I keep in my safe. Deafening. I think of it every time my ears ring. ;) https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pantera/1996/convention-center-hall-el-paso-tx-63c41277.html Also, im super grateful for setlistfm. Edit: yeah, I've played that pick - twice.

Years ago I won concert tickets & the chance to go onstage with Iron Maiden at the Five Seasons Center ( now it’s Alliant Energy Powerhouse ) in Cedar Rapids , Iowa .
You had to answer questions about the band , i always had the radio on waiting for the disc jockey to ask another trivia question to win . a few times I had known the answer to the question BUT I couldn’t get through to the radio station on the phone , kept getting a busy signal & others would win prizes . then one day it happened , had the radio on & they asked this question “ What Is Bruce Dickinson’s Nickname “ ….. I knew the answer only because I had just read something about him a few days earlier in a magazine article . I called 📞 the radio station & somebody answered & said your number #3 , please hold on . As I’m waiting I can hear the first two callers get a shot to answer the question & they blow it …… then I’m “live” on the air & the d.j. Asked me the question & I reply with “ Air-Raid Siren “ We got a winner here he says , two free tickets & to go onstage & sing with Maiden . Well , I did just that . Took a hot chick with me to the concert & got to sing with them . It was crazy to be onstage with them guys & after I got offstage I hooked up with my date & she grabbed my hand & we found a spot to make-out while listening to Iron Maiden rocking out onstage 🎶 We both got to hang out a little bit backstage too .

I once won a meet and greet with Motley Crue in 1999, also won an autographed guitar. I actually don't listen to Crue anymore but I do still have the guitar. Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx were the cool ones while Mick Mars was quiet and Vince Neil just signed my guitar, took a pic and then took off.
I would have much rather have met Maiden, I still listen to them. My Maiden story is Bruce almost caused a riot when he threatened to end the show because some idiot threw a lighter onstage. I think that was the Powerslave Tour. Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio.

@raidergreg69 , cool crue story , I seen the crue years ago .
The guys from Maiden were really cool & I had a blast at that show . Funny story , years later I’m in downtown Davenport , Iowa & this guy looks at me & says “ hey , I’ve seen you before but I can’t remember where “ . we we’re in the library & about 15-20 minutes later he comes walking up to me & says Iron Maiden …. you were on stage with them at five seasons & I started laughing cause it’d been at least 5 years on at the time it happened . he said he recognized my face & long hair .
